NOOPEPT - Nootropics

60 caps (30mg)

Nootropic supplements, sometimes known as smart drugs are natural or synthetic substances that can be taken to improve mental performance in healthy people. They have gained popularity in today’s highly competitive society and are most often used to boost memory, focus, creativity, intelligence and motivation.

Nootropics are categorized into different types or classes of compounds. These include Racetams, Cholines, Natural Nootropics, Vitamin B derivatives, peptides, Ampakines and “Smart Drugs”.

Noopept (N-phenylacetyl-L-prolyglycine ethyl ester) is a nootropic cognitive enhancer that is around 1000 times stronger than Piracetam. Piracetam improves the early stage of the process of memory, while Noopept also improves the consolidation and retrieval stages of memory.

It’s anti-anxiety, anti-inflammatory and prevents neurotoxicity from amyloid excess while also improving blood flow.

The benefits of Noopept are not fully studied in humans, but animals show tremendous promise. Noopept is incredibly fast-acting compared with similar smart drugs like Piracetam. It can cross the blood brain barrier and is then broken down into cycloprolyglycine within 10 minutes.

It is considered even faster than potent racetams like Aniracetam and Oxiracetam. Noopept increases BDNF (brain derived neurotropic factor), which greatly improves cognitive performance. This nootropic is great for usage in cognitive decline.

  • Greatly improves memory and cognition. Numerous studies on rats show improved learning and memory retention.
  • Improves anxiety. In rats, (cycloprolyglycine, produced in the brain from Noopept) reduced anxiety, suggesting that anxiety and memory are regulated together.
  • Helps with emotional balance after vascular or traumatic brain injuries. Clinical trials on 54 patients showed improved anxiety, irritability, mood, energy, apathy, sleep disturbances, day time drowsiness all with the first week.
  • Prevents stress. In rats, Noopept decreased the activity of stress-induced proteins.

Minutes after being ingested, Noopept increases NGF (nerve growth factor) and BDNF (brain derived nerve growth factor).

However, Noopept has many modes of action. One is anti-oxidation, which protects neurons from apoptosis. Another mechanism of action includes inhibiting glutamate neurotoxicity (which often leads to degenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s disease). The most important mode of action is on neuroplasticity, which improves learning and memory.

Some side effects are seen at higher doses because of the potency. However, animal studies show no toxicity in doses of 10mg/kg. A human equivalent could be as high as 170mg for a 155 pound individual.

However, Noopept may cause headaches (can be overcome with choline supplementation).

It also may cause increase blood pressure, irritability, anxiety, dizziness, sleeplessness, allergic reaction.

30mg once a day for a maximum of 60 days.
